Also named after one of its top features, 24 Diner is a relative newcomer to Austin's 24 hour dining scene. Opening in 2010 next to Waterloo Records it quickly took on the personality of the area that has catered to Austin's music scene since shortly after time began. 24 Diner appeals to the same crowd that refuses to dine at chain restaurants and aims to Keep Austin Weird. There's no way to sell out on the menu or order up something that sucks as the entire place exudes authenticity. Quite possibly the oldest establishment in Austin, The Tavern still boasts a sign out front that says Air Conditioning.
